About:cnpt.ca (Concept) is a design studio focused on consultation and innovative solutions to complex problems across hardware, software, and digital experiences. Grounded in technology and design, the studio explores how systems, interfaces, and information can work together to create more intuitive and effective experiences.
Problem:Shift from cnpt's old branding being that of a small design brand/buisness, into a now two person ownership focusing on more of a design studio offering consultation, development and solutions.
Role
Founder and Co-owner of cnpt.ca. Initially pitched the brand as a 3D-printing design studio against other applicants for the BAO (Brampton Arts Organization) Seed Fund for Creative Entrepreneurs and won $2,000 in startup funding. Later took on a partner to shift into a design consulting/development studio.
Branding Inspiration:cnpt, short for Concept, reflects our core approach: turning ideas into thoughtful, technology-driven solutions from concept to execution. The identity is bold, striking, and forward-looking, designed to capture the spirit of pushing into new territory rather than relying on conventional solutions. Bright, high-impact colors and a confident visual language reinforce CNPT’s focus on building for what’s next.
cnpt was going through a rebrand, but wanted to keep the same name, the idea was similar, but slightly different, we wanted to go from something that may apear more fun, more directly bold, over to something that indicated "future" or "innovative" but still kept the soul of what cnpt was.
Redesign Proccess: Starting with the original logo which was built off of custom typography based around every letter being comprised of small cut outs of perfect squares, I opted to look towards spelling cnpt with squares, like pixels.
the logo had to resemble the old logo, but needed to be clearly different, distinct and unique, through the ideation process we maintained the idea around pixels and utilized it to spell out the letters cnpt, after the fact we played around with going from a bold outstanding pixel look which could reflect retro/old tech, and pushed it into a more innovative future driven style by rounding off corners and stretching the type out slightly.
Colours for the most part remain the same, but a clear system between them was constructed to maintain brand cohesiveness under several mediums. A slight alteration had been made to the cnpt red, now referred to as Hyper Red, making it a slight but more vibrant to match the overall changes. Naming scheme for the black and white have been changed accordingly to Core Black and Pure White.
To contrast the very distinct logo, a clear functional, almost technical font is the primary font for cnpt.ca as it offers clarity throughout all platforms while maintaining cnpts brand vision as an innovative, tech driven design studio.

Final Redesign/Results:
Three main distinct logo variations were created to address several use cases, first would be the standard cnpt logo, made to be the face of the brand, the main go-to logo, following that would be an extended version including the full brand name (concept canada) and the current working year acompanyed with a copyright symbol on the top right of the main logo mark. The last mark is an alternate icon designed for small compact mediums and spaces.
Several mockups were developed to explore several mediums, such as merchandise, promotional and digital platforms. cnpt's main focus currently is on expanding it's digital range and platform so compelling promotional and art direction is a necessity. To maintain this goal, a brand styling sheet was developed to keep all details digestible and easily accessible especially when handing off to third parties.
